Wow Jen!! Those are great, I'd love the cubby unit in my scrap room!

Thanks for all the ideas everyone. I have nothing new to add other than I'd like to make up a bunch of items and sell them either on Ebay or somewhere also. I have a lot of things made up, but still need to decide where to go. Etsy (sp) looks like a great place to go and doesn't seem to be a bidding site, which I like, but it's hard to decide what everything is worth. I don't want to give it away, but afraid I'll overprice items and you can't make money that way either.

Keep the ideas coming ladies!!

I signed up for etsy earlier this month. I've only had one sale, but I also haven't done a lot of marketing/promotion yet. Just trying to build up an inventory right now. I was accepted into a juried art/craft show in November, so hopefully that will be successful!

I signed up with etsy so I could purchase supplies... fabric to be exact. I was also toying with the idea of selling some of my quilts there too. I have a couple of extras that are laying around the house almost finished. Now if I could just finish them and get them sold!

I'm hoping to set up a shop on etsy soon with my oldest daughters (18 & 16). I feel like I'm stepping completely into the unknown!

I checked out your etsy site Marilee and its great! seems like you have had quite a bit of traffic and sales so far---were most of them from people who just found you on Etsy and then ordered?

Ok. So I just had a one day festival last weekend where I sold tie-dye, bottle cap pendants and Piper's cool signs. It was probably the best looking set up we've had. We also had the most lucrative day we've ever had. I think the secret is to have a variety of items. In the past when we've sold just tie-dye, certain people didn't stop, just walked by. With the addition of Captivation and Piper's signs to draw people in, we had a crowded booth the whole day!

I wish I had more time to do these events. I have one more in August that should be good. I'm hoping to bring the caps around to stores while I am in Maine to get them to sell them. I think another good way to make $ without putting in a whole weekend at a festival is to find a store in each town around where I live or visit that is willing to sell my stuff. Maybe a weekly farmer's market now and then too.

The other thing I'm going to try to do is have events at my house where my stuff is around to sell. I just wish I were better at the accounting and tracking piece. I seem to give a lot away and not keep track of sales well. I'd be open to suggestions on this, keeping in mind that I am an Aquarian, ADD, mom with a full time job, who need an efficient, no brainer way to organize my business affairs. Is this possible???

Here's a picture of Truly Tie-Dye and Captivation's set up at Fall City Days last Saturday.
Oh, and I signed up for Etsy. I just haven't posted any pics yet or anything. What do you all think about $15 for the bottle cap pendants (that includes the chain to put it on)?

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
