With the index finger method? For white rice I do the 20-25 minutes like usual. I don't know where my dad learned it, he's Canadian.

Jen...this is too funny. But with me being Asian - - well we were taught at an early age on the "art of cooking rice" w/out using a rice cooker . LOL!!

I'm not the cook of the family, but gotta love the rice cooker. My MIL bought us the Tiger Brand rice cooker, with an LCD display . It has these settings to cook white rice, brown rice, both and porridge. Just push a button...wait and it's done.

Rachel Ray has some quick, easy risotto recipes. Made some and it came out really good that my hubby was impressed (he's really the cook of the family - used to be a sous chef in a previous life.)

And I love my rice cooker...my MIL(she's Cuban) gave me one and I am thinking, "What is this, I'll never use it!"...Well, I will never be without one!!! LOL!

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
