Cr8tv

Please let us know what you're trying to do or find here on the site and we'll be sure to write up and post a quick tutorial for ya. :) And--don't be shy or embarrassed!!!!! No question is a stupid one. Unless of course you're asking your husband or a smart allelic teenager who think they know it all--and none of those are in our cool cr8tv peep club! lol

If you're new here, its sorta like a message board on steroids!! LOL--or as my friends daughter called it---"Mom, its a MySpace for Crafters!" :)

Topics:

Uploading Photos:
**To your Studio:
>Click on
--> "Photos" at top of home page
-->"Add Photos"
TIPS:
--You should have a simple row of 8 tabs on the left that each say "Choose File". If you don't see that, scroll down and click on "use simple uploader".
--You can also upload photos from your Flickr account if you have one.
--Your photos will automatically show up in the main Cr8EC album and within your "My Photos" section inside your Studio.

**Inserting photos into blog or comment posts:
Adding/inserting a photo into a text box within the Cr8EC site is a little different than just selecting the file from your computer. To do this it only requires one teensy little extra step, but I find it is really worth it to have this functionality.

To insert a photo, you must first upload the photo to a photo sharing site where the image can be 'hosted'. I prefer PhotoBucket for this service and will add instructions here on how it works with that site.

1. Register and activate your PhotoBucket account.
2. Upload your photos to your PhotoBucket album.

3. Copy the 'Direct Link' code (see image below)

4. With your cursor placed where you want your image to appear, click the 'insert photo' icon in the menu bar above the text box you are in. (see image below)

5. Paste the code into the box labeled 'Please enter an image address'(see image below)

Uploading Videos:
**To your Studio:
>Click on
--> "Videos" at top of home page
-->"Add Video"
-->Click the "Choose File" button to upload from your computer. *Files must be 100MB or smaller. Support .mov, .mpg, .avi, .3gp and .wmv file formats.

*If the video is already hosted on a site like YouTube or Google, look to the lower right of your upload screen and select "Add Video" to simply paste the "Embed code" your video host site gave you.

*You can also upload your videos to your PhotoBucket account and host them there. This will enable you to not only embed the video code here at Cr8EC, but on any other website as well.

*To upload by cell phone or email select "More Information" on the right of the upload page. Add photos and videos by sending them to your personal Cr8EC e-mail address shown.

**Inserting videos & slideshows into blog or comment posts:
Simply follow the same instructions as inserting photos, but copy and paste the 'HTML Code' instead of the 'Direct Link' code.

Adding a Link within a Comment or Blog Post:
1. Type what you want the 'name' of the link to be labeled. ie: what you want people to see instead of the big, long ugly URL. :)

Heres an example--
1. Lets say you want to post a link to Ebay, start by typing "Ebay ..." into the text of your message and then highlight it. (see pic below)

2. Once you've highlighted it, click on the 'add hyperlink' button in the top menu tool bar (between the S and the image icon). *If you hold your cursor/mouse over it for a minute the name of the icon with pop up so you can be sure its the right one. The name of your link will not stay highlighted once you hit the 'add hyperlink' icon, but don't worry--its not supposed to. (notice in my sample image)

3. Now paste the URL/link into the box that opens up and hit OK. (see pic below) Wahla!
You can also choose to underline or bold your links to make them stand out more from the rest of the text.

Who's Online Scroller:
Just wanted to let you know we added some new features to the Create Everyday site. One of my favorites is the "Who's Online" scroller bar that you can turn onto the top of your CE screen now! You can add fun messages to your photo--maybe what mood you are in or what you're working on today or whatever! To turn it on, just click the "Who's Online" link just under your settings in the upper right hand corner of your page. See pic here--

hopefully will have questions soon.

I am just happy you posted this. I have to try more things but I know I will have questions. I was wondering why there are two reviews listed at the top? One thing I get confused about is the chats. How do you find out what has been posted since your last visit?

Reply to This

You and I BOTH wanna know why there are 2 Review sections at the top! i'm trying to get my programmer to fix it, but its 'on his list' lol.

The chats are basically just a way to have discussions--like forum posts, so if you post in a ChitChat or discussion, then you will be notified via email if someone replies to the discussion. (go into your profile settings and allow emails) If you don't post, but wanna watch the thread, just click "Follow" (the follow link is directly under the last post in the discussion.

Then today we added the live chat box called webChattr. its just a little application that you can look at or type into, but not something you would need to or want to follow.

You can follow some of the activity in the Latest column on the left hand side of the home page too, but it doesn't note everything thats done or changed...

HTH! Thanks for asking! :)

For the most part the website is user friendly. I had a hard time loading my pictures, may have been my computer. But, I do find it hard to go back to an area that you visited a few times. There is a lot on this website, which is absolutley fantastic, just takes a little more time to find what you are looking for.....just love it!

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
