I recently had someone offer to set up an ebay store for me to sell our recycled bottlecap jewelry in trade for marketing tips. Does anyone else do this with their crafts? I love the idea and definitely don't have the focus to work the details. I could actually use someone to do my etsy store too. I've come to terms with and embraced my Aquarian, ADD self but that doesn't help me attend to details like MAKING MONEY! Any thoughts???

Tee Hee Ellen I am the same way. I am trying to get my website going on ETSY and my goal was for today but it didn't happen. So maybe tomorrow I can get something up there. Now if I could get my DH to do my banner for me for the site that would help.

Thankfully I have the pushing factor of bringing my little boy home. Now to get the clothes I have made up on ETSY. Let me know how you do.

I'm also getting ready to open and Etsy store. I've been making things and still need to do the actual store. I'm not real computer wise, so I've been kind of putting it off. I'm hoping to get the courage up and have it done by the end of the week! Keep your fingers crossed!!

I am right there with you. You will inspire me and I'll be motivated to get mine done. :)

I have mainly sold on ebay. I have sold tons of scrapbooking stuff. Mainly direct selling types like CTMH, CM and SU. The retail stuff doesn't really sell for me. People don't look for stuff like that on ebay too much. At least that has been my situation. I say do your research, it is easy to research on ebay. As for Etsy, no clue. Good luck! Sounds like a great thing to start. I would love to, but I have so much other stuff to do that I can't even think about everything I want to do. lol

Good luck to everybody!!

In my experience you would be better to sell on Etsy. Seems that handmade items do better there than on Ebay. Of course some people do sell a lot on Ebay so you might post a couple of listings just to see how it goes before going to all the trouble of setting up a store there.

Speaking of Etsy, I've had a shop there for just over a year.

What I have found out that really helps is to get on the email lists, forums, etc. where there are people who are interested in the type of item you make.
As far as setting up the shop goes, it really isn't that hard. I consider myself "techno-challenged" and I've managed to do it. Looking at shops that sell items similar to what you want to sell can give some ideas, too.

Don't know Susan. Still haven't set up the account yet. Anyone else know about Etsy costs?

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
