The latest issue of Creating Keepsakes (January 2009) has an article on Project 365, where you take a picture a day for the entire year. Each week is scrapped on a two-page 12x12 layout. This is my idea...this year will be a new start for me, so I am going to give the whole 365 idea a shot. I will photograph all the new beginnings, trials, good days, bad days, etc. I am also going to throw in pictures of the "old" things hanging around the house that have a family history, so that the kids/grandkids will end up with a document of 2009, plus a listing of all the items that should be passed down through the years. On days with no photos, the magazine suggests journaling your ideas/feelings/etc. for that day.
If I really do keep it up, I think it will be a great book to look at in future years. What do you think?

Some of my friends have started this. I guess I didn't dig far enough into my issue to see the article. I'm going to start today. I know I'm 8 days late, but I use my camera on a daily basis, so it sounds like a fun challenge.

Let's see how far we get! I've been noting the pictures I take on my calendar, and if I don't have a picture, I write what I want to journal about.

Hi Kris!!! My best friend and I are doing this together! Well, she lives in Florida but we are keeping each other focused. How is it going for you? Did you get the kit before it sold out?
I found out too late to get it so I am just taking pics and doing it in a regular scrapbook.
Hugs to you. Keep us posted.

So far, so good. I didn't get the kit, either. I really do hope I keep up with this!

What a great idea! I have a hard time remembering to take pictures even on the holidays, so I probably won't be doing it, but I admire people who do (and journal). I hope we can see your results next January. I am always in the kitchen on the holidays, or rushing out the door with a cake or a cassarole to go to a special occasion, and forget the camera. I take terrible pictures anyway, for an artist I am not very good at photo composition. My subjects are always so far away they are hard to recognize! Really bad. Have fun!

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
