So--which one of your favorite magazines have closed shop recently? I was devastated to find out that my most favorite Country Home and Cottage Living are over. Done. Gonzo. It put me in the WORST mood the day I found out.

My husband tried to lift my spirits by pointing out that the mission of Cr8tiveLiving.com should fill that void, and although I agree with him in part, there really isn't any website that can replace the rush of excitement of the latest issue waiting for you to sit and devour every little word and photo.

What do you think?

Oh no I did like that magazine when I saw it. It's just sad with so many magazines going belly up.

I read relatively few magazines: People, US, OK, Readers Digest and, from time to time, Southern Living. There are others I pick up here and there, but if I don't see them I don't register them as 'lost' because I just pick up another. I do know a few who were bummed about Cottage Living going under.

I have never read a scrap magazine. I've seen a few pages here and there, but I think I must be a 'broken' scrapper. I am not big on idea books or magazines. In 13 years of scrapping I have bought three books total, and only because they were highly recommended AND a very good price.

It's really sad to see so many of our favorite magazines and publications go down. These have been the stand-by sources of inspiration for so many. I, too, was saddened to see Country Home close. It's one of the few I had a subscription for. Another one was the Mary Englebreit magazine. I so loved getting that and seeing the different ways to decorate and use my craft stash.

Fortunately, we do have sites such as this one that we can use as a continuous source of inspiration. Personally, I have a file on my computer full of inspiration (photos others have shared on their blogs and on sites) that I can do to when I need the inspiration. Saving it to my computer allows me to take it to gatherings (crops, etc), use it when the internet is down, or just remind me of a great idea when I don't remember where I've seen it.

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
