I saw this on our creative peep Carolyn Riders blog (girl, you've been holding out on us!! LOL!!) and it is SO Spectacular, that I had to share it here!! Do you have old board books from when your kids were toddlers?? Or, you can get these at a yard sale or the dollar store and turn them into fab chipboard albums!! Check out this video....
how to make a recycled chipboard album
I've got my eyes peeled to Kris! I love the metal rings with the cute ribbon tied on them that coordinates with the paper. I could have FUN with these!!
Tomorrow is Friday Kris!! You know what that means?? Garage sales! Let's see who can find a board book first and put together one of these chip board albums! Come on.... everybody can participate! :o)
It doesn't need to be complete with pictures, just scrap paper and embellishments.
That sounds like fun! Don't know if I can find a sale today, though! Darn! And tomorrow I am at Cross Roads, so I can't go to "the cheap store." That's a thrift store where you can find some really neat things. I got the best display rack for Cross Roads for ten bucks! The problem is, they are only open on certain days for about two hours at a time.
Anyhow, I've got my daughters on the look out for the books, too. I won some girlie embellishments, etc., in a Chinese auction, so I was thinking of doing a book with them.
Well, I FOUND a board book at a garage sale today!! Lucky for you Kris, it is a fuzzy feel book that is gonna be too much of a pain to remove all the fuzz and then recover! ;o)
So, I bought it anyways for .50 and will give it to my daughter because she loves animals and it's full of fuzzy polar bears and it's an easy reader and she loves to read :o) Off to the next sale to look for books :o) Race you there........
Didn't see any sales in my travels today....boo hoo! But, my friend is going to one of those all-community sales tomorrow and I gave her my list! I might be able to get to the thrift store next week sometime if she can't find any books. Wouldn't it be fun to find some that are shaped (cars, ice cream cones, that kind of thing)?
