My daughter and I went to Florence (Oregon) today for an Avon meeting at her director's house. Darling house, all done in seaside decor. But the neatest thing was a black firescreen frame (the door type like a glass door system only with screening in the doors) hung on the wall outside with flower pots hung on it and a doo-dad hung in the center. Hard to describe, and I wish I had a camera, but it was cute and different. Amazing what a little imagination can do!

ok. here is something that my 4 yr old g'son and i didnt together.......we took an ole draw we found curb shopping, he calls it trashing........i let him take the handle off and the door slides off each side using his Pawpaw drill, then gave him paint, he painted it black first day, red second day...then i swab the back with glue, he added his poster, then i swab the bottom, then i gave him his beach sand he got this past Easter to sprinkle over the bottom...then i gathered a few shells as he gathered a few toys......ta dah, a diorama using an ole draw

And here I thought I was the queen of junk!! I just posted pix of some of my junk on my page, one of which is a terrarium made from a beveled glass chandelier (one of 5) that had hung in a horse sale barn (red carpet sale, 'spensive horses). I got them all for hauling them off. Some were broken so I took the glass pieces (each was beveled and some were etched glass) and made candle holders and sun catchers with copper wire, beads, etc. and sold them. The original cadelabra type fixtures that were inside- I took them out and tore out the wiring and made them into candle holders for an outdoor dining area. I made a total of $300. from free junk. Check my page to see the one I kept for myself.

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
