I am looking into getting a pen tablet to make all things photo editing and digital scrapping MUCH easier, and while I've settled on one of the Wacam Bamboo tablets, I'm not sure what size to get. Price would lead me to the smaller size (basically 4x5) but is this a mistake not to get the larger size (5x8)? There's a new version that is a bit more stylized, but also come with a few software programs that I don't have, and it's only $20 more than the regular Bamboo Tablet, but I want to make sure that I don't short myself on this as from everything I've heard it's a REALLY useful tool. The bigger one is about $100 more than the smaller. Any thoughts? -Suzie

Hey Suzie - I got one of the small ones - it has the pen and the mouse. I love it!!! It is sooooo cool working with the pen. It takes a bit of time to get used to, but it's very cool. I'm not sure about the software. I never installed anything with this one besides the drivers. I don't even know what this one came with...Good luck! I would be lost without mine.

I'm hoping to get the same feedback Suzie! I have the 5x8 Wacom pad and haven't EVER used it in over 1 year. lol

Get it out and use it! You won't go back once you do!!! I love mine. I was afraid of the pen at first, but once I started, I use it all the time now. Go Jen, go Suzie, Go Jen, Go Suzie!!!

Hi Suzie: I find the pen/tablet gives me more control for doing detail work on my digital creations. I would suggest a medium sized one. I'm not sure bigger is better in tablets. It does have a different feel than a mouse and there is a learning curve, but you will come to love it. Good luck!

Hi I just saw this & I thought I'd add in my two cents. I have a big one that measures 12 X15 on the inside from Wacam & then I have the much smaller one that is like 4x5. & I have to say that I use the smaller one just about everyday. whereas the big one I use once in a great while. I didn't really use any of the software from either one but I use Photoshop products for both of the tablets. I also like to use them to create more digital elements for my hybrid or digital scrapbook pages. It a whole lot easier to do digie stuff with my tablet than a mouse. ;)
