I've bought a sewing machine, over a year ago, and have yet to thread it. When I was in elementary school I got a kids sewing machine for Christmas that I would use all the time. We had a friend who did alterations in a major dept store in our city, and she would give me her scraps. I would make all my Barbi clothes. They had mink coats, velvet capes, etc. I had forgotten all about this until you asked. LOL!
I need to get that machine threaded and quit doing all my mending and scrapbook sewing by hand! Maybe this group will give me the motivation to get to work.

I sewed the majority of my clothes when I was a preteen/teenager(my age is showing!!) but now I usually just sew on paper!

I can pretty much repair a ripped seam. And that's about it! LOL! Any and all instruction is appreciated! Sewing is one of those things that I've always wanted to do but never got around to finding the time.

I made my daughter's 8th grade semi-formal dance dress and have embellished her ballroom dance dresses but I don't sew often. I'll be peeking in at the creations and maybe evn offer one of my own if I can find the pictures. They're here somewhere!

Jen I am glad you created this. I was going to do it today. I will be making some simple summer outfits for the girls this week. I will post them and the pattern I use when I am finished.

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
