hey girls--don't forget to use the discussion areas for chit chatting and conversations---the stuff added in the comments area that we leave here below, don't show up in recent activity or on the home page of the site, so its hard to follow up on...thx!

I see that a lot of you have Photoshop, that is great. I have not made it to that program, so far the Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus, and Memory Manager software have worked great for me. I am a PE teacher and not techy at all. I have managed to get a lot out of these programs in a very short time. You can import whatever you have as a jpeg so any work done in other programs as long as it is a jpeg save can be imported into the storybook program.

Check out the programs at this link:

http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/lauriecromwell/catalog-index?ts=1211047612041&event=showmenu&categoryIdParm=|243|&pageTitle=Digital%20Scrapbooking&selectedCategory=243&eventId=243&productGroupId=726

I have also included links to storybooks I have created. They are hard cover, sewn bound, books. CM is also offering a soft cover book now as well.

Here are some storybooks I have created with the CM Storybook Creator Plus. You can click on the link and view the books, sorry each link is separate.
The cool thing is it is all electronic and you do not have to go to print until you are all done. I have emailed these links when I am in process to have people check it out and give me suggestions.
With the CM program you do not have to be online until you order or share. All your pictures stay on your computer and it is great if you are still stuck with dial up.
I have lots of projects I have created also. You can save each page as a jpeg and send them to friends and relatives, or to a printer to have them done professionally (Costco or CM).
The program allows you complete freedom to make as many pictures of any size on your page, change fonts with whatever your computer has in any text box, and change the paper background to whatever you have saved in your program. So basically all that you traditionally do on a scrapbook, you can do electronically, with the exception on 3D.

What I really like about Photoshop is the digital brushes although I don't have any really nice ones. Does anyone have any they could share with us? Maybe some cool flourishes, etc.

For Robbie and anyone else looking for digital "how to's": You can find great tips for Photoshop Elements and other digital techniques on the Scrapbook Memories TV show website. Go to www.scrapbookmemoriestv.com and check "Projects". Start with the latest series 1200 and you'll see that on each show there is a computer scrapbooking tip from Epson and an Adobe Digital Scrapbooking tip. There are 13 shows in each series so that's a lot of info to help you get started. Hope this helps. :)

Make a Smilebox scrapbook

For those of you who have not used Smilebox before, you must go and try it. Amazing digital scrapbook pages made for you. All you do is drag and drop your pics into the pages and then pick music to go along with it to send to friends and family. You can also save it as a jpeg and use the pages to print or put in a ZoomAlbum!

This is one I made for my mom for Mother's Day.

Anyone here who would consider themselves an expert on digital layout design (digital scrapbooking)? I think it would be a really neat idea for someone to come up with and post lessons in text with or without video that they would like to share. Maybe one a week or one a month or something. I know I'm really interested in learning how to use my photoshop elements in digital scrapbooking more. I know some, but not as much as I would like. Something like a Digital Scrapbooking 101 class series maybe? What do you think about this ladies?

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
