ok...in response to Paige's computer 'going down in smoke' LOL--I'm going to list my favorite features in order of importance k?

and just so you know, i'm going to be refering to this iMac.

Click here for more info, but here's the jist--

20" flat panel screen w/ cozy flat keyboard
Great bells and whistles, speed, memory etc for the common internet surfer
NO cpu or base unit! its ALL inside the skinny little screen! you literally open the box, plug it into the wall and GO!

only $1199 out the door--

Reasons I love my iMac:
#1 BLAZING fast speed! Seriously--i should do a quick screencast video of how dang fast this thing moves! Here is an example--I have Comcast cable internet and I have NEVER had an online video pause and stall while watching it!

"Faster Intel Core 2 Duo processor---At speeds up to 3.06GHz, the latest-generation dual-core Intel processors powering iMac are faster than ever, offering greater performance for everything from enhancing photos to playing games and more."

#2 Ability to have a TON of windows open at once! Don't believe me? Take a look at this picture--look closely! This is a screen capture shot of what my screen looks like RIGHT NOW--all the little blue lites underneath my desktop icons on the very bottom are programs that I have open and am using all at once!

# 3-My kids can't JACK it up! and no virus' or need for virus protection software:

"Safe for you and your kids: Designed with security in mind, Mac OS X isn’t plagued by constant attacks from viruses and malware. Likewise, it isn’t inundated by never-ending security dialogs. So you can safely go about your work — or play — without interruption. And easy-to-use parental controls let you manage what your kids can do on the computer and when they can do it."

#4 Drag and drop capability: this one might seem freaky to PC users, but you can literally just drag and drop pictures and such. So--lets say you are using iWeb and you want to add some pictures from the internet (and of course you have legal right to use them right?)--instead of having to download them to your hard drive and then upload them to your website using iWeb, you open both windows and click and drag the picture into iweb!!! it is so seriously amazing...

#5 Apple Care--for only $199 you can add a 3 year, bumper to bumper warranty to your machine AND full support from Apple Customer Care!!! I know that sounds weird, but seriously--this in and of itself is awesome because you know that you will have a computer that you KNOW how to use and if anything gets jacked up on it, you just call them and they help ya...and they even speak english! :) major plus!~

So those are my 5 fav's...oh and--everyone ohhs and ahs over it when they come to your house and they think you are THE coolest!! :)

I also love my mac...my hubby surprised me with it for our anniversary/bday last year. I am a die hard mac fan and he is a PC man, never in my wildest dreams did I think he would buy me this.

So for your question, there is a disk drive on the side of the moniter, and yes, you can burn cd's and such. These are truly awesome.

My bummer is that this last fall I needed a laptop...and the price of the ibooks was a bit out of my range. So I bought an Acer, and I do like it, but that darn vista can be an issue from time to time. I am having problems getting webkinz to work on the laptop after the last update that was run on it. I never have those problems with my mac.

OK, I am used to using a PC, and I am not that tech savvy, but I do have access to a Mac, like the one pictured above, although it might have more bells and whistles, because the cost was a bit more.......I do not know how to use it???? I am lost and there is no one around in my area who know anything about it either.......I want to purchase CS3, and know nothing about that either, but would it be best to put it on the Mac and learn both at the same time, because I hear Mac's are meant for photoshop and illustrator????? Thanks

I wish I would of bought a Mac ! I spent $1200 on an HP and I do like it, but I still wish I would of gone with a Mac. My brother just bought one and he loves it.

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
