Sacramento Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival

Went on my yearly adventure to the Sacramento Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival with my mom and her friends that she sews with. We had a wonderful time and there were such beautiful things as usual. I'm not into sewing too much, but every year when I leave I always tell myself I should sew more! I love going through all the booths and checking out all the quilts and projects that you can either buy already made or buy the patterns and materials to make them yourself. I think that this is the fi… Continue

Happy 4th!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th! Have been cooking for 2 days and am finally done. We're going to a neighborhood bbq this evening and now I can relax and just enjoy it! Both the kids are out of town doing their own thing, so it's just hubby and I this year. A little sad, but their adults now and have their own lives.

So you all have a great 4th and stay safe out there!!

New Slideshow

I'm a horrible blogger and I know it! Hopefully below is a new slideshow that I did with pictures I promised in a few of the discussions and chit chats.

First are the organization pictures of my boxes and jars. I have boxes everywhere and jars. I'm a total freak with it comes to storage items, I don't know why, but it's true. I love jars and I love boxes. I got tired of going through the boxes looking for stuff, so I got bookplates and put them on all the boxes and wrote on the paper what's in… Continue

Susie! Thanks so much 4 the compliment. ok the baby oil is used the same way as the orderless mineral spirits. I tried the baby oil because I am really scared of having any extra chemicals around my kiddies. ok so you stamp, color lightly, then use a stump (rolled paper) dip in baby oil and rub in the coloring in a circular motion. From what I understand the baby oil breaks down the wax and allows u 2 move the pigment around so the colors blend nicely, or u can fade to white. I only did the moon on that card but I luv the results. try it its easy. yey

Sorry, Susie, I forget abbreviations can be confusing. Its Vacation Bible School...our church does a week long every summer.

Thanks SusieScrapper for the compliment. I wish I could take the credit for the card that you were talking about, but it actually came from the "Color Forum" group, by fancyMelissa, for which I noticed that you were a member. So if you go to week 2 Inspiration - fancy dress, (if you haven't been there already), there you will find the template to make that dress. It is really simple.

Thanks too for the comments! The accordian book is actually the design of Shirley Pando - go check out her page, she's fabulous! She teaches online at My Creative Classroom - that's how I did the book.

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
