Cookie Crazy!

Just a shout out to let everyone know that I probably won't be posting much this month- it's Girl Scout cookie season. Last weekend we took delivery of over 1000 boxes for the troop and today is the first of 4 booth sales. I will return to my regularly scheduled programming after mid April when all of the money and paperwork is finally turned in to council.

Sugar Dots

I think I need to preface this post with a little bit of history-
The US postal service has gotten really picky about lumpy envelopes. They say that they can't send them through their automated machines and they have to be hand processed, so it costs more to mail them. Big offenders seem to be real buttons, brads, and knots or bows on ribbons. So, being the cheap skate that I am, I avoid those, whenever possible if I'm mailing the card. (Hand delivered cards still get lumpy things.)… Continue

Hi Heather! I'd LOVE it if you could write up some quick instructions on how you made your adorable felt owls! I wanna feature them!

I agree about the instruction books. Same with my Singer. Written by the Japanese that built the machines,THEY knew what they meant, so they assumed that I knew what they meant.....

So you like your Viking? I need more instruction on my Janome to make full use of all the features. I live 40 mi from town, so finding time to go in to the store for help is hard. They are so busy all the time, it is almost impossible to "drop in" for help. I still cannot figure out how to combine patterns or use the memory features. I have had it for at least 6 mos., and have had to have them transfer all my designs from XXX format to JEF format, because I am not very good with my computer either! I think I need a "live-in" geek! But I have fun with it anyway.

hi! So, the "sister" page was actually a 2 page layout in a 8x8 album that I had commissioned for my sister as a wedding gift. By commissioned I mean that I forced all the bridesmaids to make 2page layouts and we put them all in one scrapbook gift to remind her of her earlier years/single years. We gave it to her the night before her wedding.

Love your quilt. I do machine embroidery, and I know how long (and how much thread!) it takes to do a quilt. I did a large picnic tablecloth for a friend for Christmas this year and it took forever! I also did a bedspread for myself a couple of years ago....then you have to put it all together. So much fun tho! What machine do you have? My new one is a Janome (had a Singer before, but it wasn't digitized). Love your paper work.

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]

Love love love Shelly’s tutorial on how-to crochet flowers. And let me tell you what, they are HOT STUFF right now.
