Today I got my hair cut VERY short!! I haven't had it this short in years!! And, when I came home and came in the front door, my dogs started barking at me!! They wouldn't stop till I talked to them and bent over and started petting them! My own son kept saying every time he saw me he thought I was someone else!! The other day I was at my Aunt's house and my cousin showed me a hooded scarf that my grandma crocheted her. So of course I immediately picked out some colors for grandma to make one for me too! LOL!

It has been so long since I last blogged. I can't even remember how long. I've been busy filling my time with volunteering at my kids school. Tuesday folders in my 3rd graders class and Thursdays helping my Kindergartner's teacher with the kiddos. It is so much fun, but exhausting!! I don't know how teachers do it everyday especially with little kids! They have the hardest jobs on earth in my humble opinion. Yesterday was SO HOT!! So, we went to Brownsville and played at the river. It's shallower and warmer water than our river(but still refreshing) and we don't have to actually be in the water the whole time with the kids.
So anyway, my dh and I sat in our river chairs and watched the kids play while we rested and occasionally jumped in to cool off. WELL, blackberry bushes lined both sides of the river and it smelled like HEAVEN!! Every breath was filled with the sweet fragrance of yummy blackberri…

It rained here last night and as I got my dd out the door early this morning to go with her Grandma to go play with a friend, I noticed the wet pavement and GLORIOUS EARTHY SMELL!!!! I wish it could be bottled and unleashed anytime!

Today I've been working on the felted purse... well, so far I've knitted the main body and two sides of it. So, I just need to knit the flap for the top tomorrow and then stitch that on with a yarn needle.
My kids were having fun felting two pieces of wool yarn together by fraying the ends and getting it a little wet and then rubbing them in between their palms. Worked like a charm.

Here is the super Yummy cupcake I crocheted!! I think it turned out pretty good for my first one ever! My dd loves it and now she has a 'pretty pillow' to dress up her bed with. now y ds wants me to make him one with blue frosting! At least in the painting world that is!! I found the greatest product! It's Kilz primer in a spray can!! It went on nice and thick and gets in all the grooves on the panels of the doors and drawers of the detailed parts of the wall unit I'm painting!! It was amazing!! It is oil based and for indoors items, so I asked the paint man at Wal-Mart if I could use latex paint over top of it and he said not a problem!! I need 4 more cans! LOL!! It's the best…
