What a nutty crazy practice mason had today!. He's finishing up a 10 week season of Ice training with dry land. Today was the first day back after taking 2 weeks so that his coach ( Scott Polaski) could go to China. During those 2 weeks mason had to do dryland training with me :) lots of medicine ball stuff - getting his mile to a decent time and lots and lots and lots of core work. Well,, today the boys hit the ice again. We had another EHL player come and skate with the kids today - nothing li…

I am lucky enough to be just minutes away from the foothills of Colorado. One area that is really close, about 10 minutes away, is called Horsetooth Mountain Park. Horsetooth is a favorite of mine becuase, it's challenging, there is always wildlife, it's safe and it's absolutly beautiful. http://www.co.larimer.co.us/parks/Htmp.htm if you are interested in checking it out.
Friday morning I had made plans with my friend Wrenn to run up in Horsetooth. We are both 40ish and just enjoy being outside,…

I hope everyone had a great Monday. It's been the normal, crazy busy around here.
First off I wanted to tell all of you peeps about the Les Borsheim Fund - just in case there are any hockey fans out there. The community is tight here, really tight! les played for the Colorado Eagles as a defensiveman. He was a tough, athletic player with an incredible work ethic. now he is fighting a different fight and you can read about it here

Today I started the day with a run in the foothills, it's a beautiful day here in the low 90's. I woke up at 5 to go for the run before it got too hot. Yesterday I worked out with my trainer again and am having a hard time using my tri's so running was good for me today.
The kids have lots of activities today, mason is skating with Polaski from the Eagles. It's such a great program for him, lots of edge skating. It's fun to see him power through the tight turns and get more comfortable on his cr…

This morning I started the day with a workout from my trainer - all types of interesting lunges squats and stuff that normally I wouldn't ever do on my own. I am so frustrated with the whole pullup thing - one of these days I will get these down. heck, at 40 you CAN learn to do pullups. my trainers version of a pullup is this - weight bar hanging on the rack, lift straps hanging from bar, bosu ball. I have to lay underneath the bar, but my feet on the bosu ball with my legs straight, grab the st…

So, there is this lady at the camp, um let's see we'll call her Joyce. joyce has a fulltime job with the girl scouts, she's about 65 years old and the grumpiest most unhappy person I've been around in a long time. She has a restriction on her employment that doesn't allow her to work with girls. Now most of the time, if you are working for an organization like the girl scouts, you wouldn't hire peopel that are restricted from working with girls but this is Girl Scouts and it's scouts Colorado St…

Besides that I just can't stand the camp. Gotta vent here for a second why, why, why if your child is ADD or ADHD would you decide to take her off of meds so that she can go to GS camp? Um, hello! That's not fair! I am a volunteer with 3 kids of my own, 13 kids in my camp, it's 95 degrees out and I have to keep talking to the ADHD kid about the dragons and other things that she's interested in - it's very random.... could be dragons, could be clear gummy bears, could be anything! Plus I have to k…

So summer is in full swing here at our house - it's crazy, overscheduled and lots of bickering over here. This is what has happened since the kids were RELEASED from school Friday afternoon.
Friday- Mason makes a tee time and plays 9 holes with Cade. Abbie gets to have a friend over we head to Cold Stone - coffee with heath bar - yummy! And then it's back to the house for waterballons and fun. Mason gets finished with golf right around dinner time so we pick him up, drop off Abbie's friend and…

I love this video, If I could figure out how to put it up I would. And who doesn't love 'Dream On'? I mean really, it's got to be our theme song around here! Kids and grownups need to Dream on!
BTW- My kids team is in this one at about the 2 minute mark. Teamwork is such an important thing to learn, this is why we love hockey!
