Our new kitties...
Our youngest kitty, Sammie, had her babies last weekend...she had them under Rachel's bed early in the morning on Saturday. Jessika and Kasey were both gone at friends so they missed it...I heard the kitties meowing and went and looked, it was about 7 am...we saw three at first, then moved some stuff under the bed and there was one more off by itself. At first we thought it was dead, but I could see it breathing...we left them alone and went to have breakfast. When we got back she had moved the three babies to under the comforter on Rachel's bed, so we moved the sick one up there too and left again. Next time we went in Kam moved the blankets around and there was another kitten...looked like she had it on the bed after the others were moved up there. It was stillborn. :( ... we didn't tell the kids about that one, since we already had one sick one. We ended up trying to syringe feed it and it made it until Monday night, but then its poor little heart just gave out and it passed on. The kids were devastated...we had to have a funeral for it after school on Tuesday.
BUT - the other three kitties are doing great. They are so cute and getting so big already. They are starting to react to light so I think they may open their eyes pretty soon...hard to believe it's been almost a week already.
