As you can see, I'm not much into posting in MY blog. I joined the Nathional Scrapbooking Day challenge, which is to complete an All About Me project. I love to scrapbook, but I don't scrapbook MYSELF. So now I'm going to. These are the questions from the challenge, along with my answers...they won't ALL be in the project, but I'll pick a few and will post the final project when I'm done:

1. One thing I'd grab if my house was on fire – My purse…it has my cell phone with contacts, CCs, and is EASY to get to if I have to leave FAST.

2. One thing I wish I could throw away – Erica’s “art.” There’s sooooo much of it, but I can’t bring myself to throw it away.

3. One thing I'll never, ever throw away – See answer #2

4. Something I lost and still miss – I had to put down my 13-yr old greyhound shortly after I got pregnant…it still breaks my heart 5 years later. Her racing name was Ciara, but I called her Sierra. She really knew how to find the most comfortable place in the whole house...I think it must've been because she had to live in a crate for 5 years before I adopted her.

5. Something I've kept since childhood – a charm bracelet my grandmother/grandfather started for me…along with all the rhyming cards to describe why they gave me a specific charm each birthday and Christmas. I plan on making a mini-book about this bracelet, but need some pix from my childhood. I'm visiting my parents in June...I guess I have something to do while I'm there now :)

6. A food item I never run out of – chocolate chips…we seem to make a batch at least once a week

7. A household brand I am loyal to – ZipLoc…just can’t bring myself to buy the generic brand

8. Something I sleep with every night – the fan turned on…it downs out our “heaving breathing” so we don’t wake each other up :)

9. One thing that's on my wish list – aw man…do I really have to say it? OK…boobs…I want a store bought pair :) I’m just terrified of having to get mammograms with them.

10. Something I take with me wherever I go – my purse…sometimes I leave it in the car, but I rarely leave home without it.

11. Something that makes me smile when I see it – ERICA…my 4-yr old daughter. It never fails, when I'm in a bad mood, all I have to do is hang out with her and she makes me smile.

12. Something my children fight over – I only have one, so when she fights over something, it’s with either mom or dad…and it’s usually it’s her asking “Why do I have to do all the work?” We have her clear the dishes from the table, help with laundry, and keep her room straightened up for $1 allowance a week. She’s saving to buy us all Tigger Tails at Disneyland in January.

13. Something I hate to clean – the bathroom!!!

14. Something I show off when people visit – my latest project...right now it's the THIRTY FIVE chipboard calendars I made for each of the attendees at my NSD crop next weekend.

15. Something I hide when people visit – my bedroom…I never make my bed (except when I change the sheets)

16. Something I'm embarrassed to admit I like – watching cartoons…I love watching the good ole’ stand by’s with my daughter (Flintstones, Jetsons and Scooby Do)

17. Something I collect – buttons…I’ll take them all off clothes before I get rid of them. You can always use one in a craft project or to mend other clothes later.

18. Something I avoid at all costs – a fight with my hubby...I really dislike confrontation in general, and especially with him.

19. Something that reminds me of my mother – tamales…we used to make them every Christmas. Her superstition is to add all ingredients as you make the sign of the cross over the mixing bowl or pot. It works…we never had a bad batch of tamales :)

20. The best gift I've ever received – my daughter!!!

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
