Lots of new, crazy and amazing things have happened. I arrived in Utah a week ago today. Exactly what I was going to be doing during my scheduled 5 days hadn't been completely decided, but I knew 2 things---I was going to get Cr8tive Living off the ground with a bang AND I was gonna find some super cool chicks w/ big hearts to share my future with. BOTH have happened in ways bigger and better than I could have ever imagined!
On Monday night, I was having dinner with my friend Carol Rice--founder of Cherish Bound--when I got a phone call from Kathy LaSarge telling me IRW had closed its doors. For quite a while now, Carol and I had been trying to figure out how we can work together, and once I got that call, I knew a door had opened for us to partner Cherish Bound and Cr8tive Living together.
My first' thought was: "I'm not a digital scrapbooker and don't really want to be." I took all the CB info home and felt better, but still thought it wouldn't replace the feeling I get from traditional scrapbooking. The next morning I arrived at the Cherish Bound Home Office and Carol gave my friend Kristine and I an actual "workshop"...all i can say is OHMYHECKRIGHTNOW!!! I was right---it didn't replace the feeling i got from scrapbooking--it was BETTER! And although I won't give up scrapbooking, this is really something different. Its telling the story...without the dread of journalling that I usually have...
Here is a letter the Cherish Bound team has drafted for all the IRW instructors and a little interview Carol and I did to share a few of our thoughts with you...please disregard how DANG fat I've gotten! lol--2008 wasn't such a good year for me LOL--the diet begins the minute I get home!
I would love to hear your thoughts, questions and feedback in the comments section below--here are a few things to note:
1. We will be releasing a program that will map out a step by step plan that will enable you to make between $1000-$2000 per month. No minimums.
2. We are already working on new releases and additions to the CB line of existing products.
3. Carol has given us the opportunity to 2 National Leader positions (like our Founders keys).
If any of this sounds good to you, if you are interested in being a part of an amazing company, if you're ready to hang out with some fun people and make money while you do it....
Trust me, and let's take this new turn in the road together. I know it will lead us to wonderful places.
Go to www.cherishbound.com and in the consultant section you'll find a business kit called, Jen's Kit. Order it and we'll ship it out to you immediately.
OR... if you know you want to fill one of those 2 National Leader spots, email me. We should talk!
Jen
Dear IRW Friend,
Thank you for your consideration of Cherish Bound. First and foremost though, we are sorry for the impact that decisions beyond your control have had in your business. That is never easy and we can certainly appreciate that this is a difficult time for all of you. We are honored that you are considering carrying forth in your mission of memory-keeping with us.
We appreciate that there is a lot to consider at a time like this. We know you have your own future, your personal network of friends, customers and team members, discouraging trends in the scrapbooking industry (CK, CM, IRW, etc.) and interesting economic times to think about. Of course we would love to have you join Jen and our team at Cherish Bound. Here are some of the things we have to offer:
• A similar mission of helping families and individuals to make, and keep their memories.
• A similar distribution model, typical to the party plan structure that you are currently familiar with.
• Independence in the development of your business online, in social networking and internet communities. We embrace this form of marketing and will encourage and assist your efforts in that area.
• An opportunity to start out with a team structure and an established customer base; we will honor the efforts you have made in your current home-based business and make accommodations for you to create a similar, or improved unit.
• Cherish Bound's Founder, Carol Rice, is a former Creative Memories founding leader. She built a team of over 1,000 personal downline while at Creative Memories and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her efforts there.
• Cherish Bound is entering its 5th year of business; that means we have been around long enough to have established processes and product lines, but new enough that there is still tremendous growth opportunity to help build Cherish Bound into a household name.
• With our product line you will have the opportunity to go into educational markets and other niches like you never could have with traditional scrapbooking. We want you to do what works for you!
• With this relatively "new business" you will find that it will be easy to get press and excitement surrounding your business - creating a buzz is easy with Cherish Bound!
• We embrace timeless values and principles and wrap them up in cutting edge technology.
• Cherish Bound is proud to be out of our start-up debt... all of our growth is on a solid foundation.
• And with all that, Cherish Bound is still able to offer on average 30% less expensive at retail pricing than any other company out there! We understand what is happening in the economy - so you can feel proud to represent a company that is leading the pack in quality and economic viability.
After looking around at our website (www.cherishbound.com) and talking with the person who shared this letter with you, feel free to call us or email us with more questions you may have. We're happy to serve you and get you whatever information you need to feel comfortable with the decision you have made.
1. Are the pages "fill in the blanks" or can you eliminate pages that do not apply to you? Or are all the pages blank -- ready for you to fill up however you want?
A: Both. We have simple, fill in the blank templates for those who don't feel creative or feel pressed for time, and we have freestyle formats that you can do whatever your little heart desires.
2. If we go thru this site, do we have to buy Jen's kit?
A: Nope. You can buy any kit you want.
3. Is it strictly bound books or are there other digital elements and kits? Do you just plug your pictures into the books and have them made up?
A: Not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly, but basically you design the book online and then press submit. We take it from there. There are other products (we call Story Tools) like journals, Story Starters, etc. that you use like workbooks, interview guides, etc. to create a story. Those you do by hand but they aren't really "scrapbooks" although I'm sure creative people would find uses for them we've never even imagined.
4. What is the discount?
A: Depending on your level - 20-30%
5. What is the auto-ship program?
A: it's a program that gives you the new designs, marketing materials, publishing credits and story tools for a fraction of the cost. The Flier is available in the Forms section that gives a full explanation of the program.
6. What is the "I'm an author program?"
A: It's the program we use to go into schools, teach after school programs and homeschool cirriculum. Our top seller last year did most of her business through teaching I'm An Author during after school programs. They make great neighborhood and community center programs too. My daughter made a couple thousand last summer running 2 camps to get ready for college. Very cool program.
7. The tools for finding your story, are they reuseable, I have never seen them, do they ask questions and write in them or can you use them over and over for different people and topics?
A: The tools are consumable products--questionnaire books. Customers will buy new ones for each story if they want.
Another question: Are the pages "fill in the blanks" or can you eliminate pages that do not apply to you? Or are all the pages blank -- ready for you to fill up however you want?
I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative! With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes.
The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
Love love love Shelly’s tutorial on how-to crochet flowers. And let me tell you what, they are HOT STUFF right now. While you perfect your technique, there are a few places you can find them already made for you!
