I haven't been doing much on here lately, and wasn't very Cr8tive for awhile, but now things seem to be getting better, so I'm back. I guess I was going through a spell of depression for a month or so, and I really didn't care much about anything around me. A lot of it had to do with the family activities going on (graduations, etc.) that Jim is not here for. But I guess it's time to move on and get myself moving.
Speaking of moving, I am considering selling this house and moving "downtown." This place needs so much work and has so much mowing, etc., that I've been looking at places in better shape, and with smaller yards to maintain. So, I might eventually need some redecorating advice folks!
I have a scrap for hire job to get done by Tuesday...took forever to find the "right" paper, etc. Also have to do three teacher gifts for the grandkids to take to school on Thursday. The ideas are there, so I just have to get them finished.
My friends and I got together last Sunday, and I did quite a few scrapbook pages. In May, my daughter, daughter-in-law, her mom, and I took three of the kids to Day Out With Thomas, and I did several pages of that. Still have more to do! Also finished the board book in the pictures, and my Scraps of Christmas Past layout.
No sewing lately...I still haven't put my quilting machine together, but that is on the list for the next couple of weeks. Part of the problem is that I hate to get it together and then move! And it's pretty sad when you have to select a house on the basis of "will the quilting machine fit?" Sorry, kids, no guest room -- gotta quilt! I really need to get it set up to do a dorm quilt for my grand-daughter's graduation party in July. Maybe if I put it in writing, I'll get it done!
Cross Roads is moving along nicely, and I've got some new ideas for that, too. I've been neglecting that, too, I'm afraid, so I need to get busy sewing, etc., for there. And since school is almost out, there will be days when I help out at the daycare, so I really have no choice but to get moving!
Looks like I'd better get busy..family dinner is at two o'clock and I want to get some work done before I go to that!
Take care...

Less mowing does sound good! My son-in-law has been really good about keeping up with that, although every time we turn around there is something wrong with the mower. Ah ha! Another reason to have a smaller yard!

Glad to see you back here. I has to be hard to go on with life as if it were normal, when "normal" for you is gone. Time is the only thing that will help. It is important to keep doing the things that made you happy tho, and gradually it will get better. Family and friends are your best bet, and pets of course. Be glad you are a person with many interests, I have always felt sorry for those with no hobbies or projects...nothing to look forward to when they get up in the morning. And maybe a change of location would help, new surroundings, new beginning. Just think, less mowing, more quilting! If you are like the rest of us, you aren't getting any younger....quilting sounds like a lot less work.

Hi Kris! Choosing a house based on a quilting room is perfectly NORMAL! :) Glad to see you're getting back in to the swing of things! :)

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
