Thanks! I love crafting of any kind. I love re-purposing old things and often you need custum supplies for that . . . so hense the digital part comes in handy. Thanks for the comment. How about you . . . what's your poison?
Hi Dar...you can download the software from www.zoomalbum.com...it's free. Then you can order from there too...but check out the new photo book coach program...it's a good deal for product and just starting so could be easy to make $ from...There's a video there too that I'm going to add here too.
glad you like it dar! :) i'm so glad the site is back up and running--was missing everyone's great ideas! :) what cr8tv projects are you working on right now?
Thank you so much for the kind compliment. I just recently tried my hand at something other than afghans and granny squares. I did try booties several years ago and just couldn't get it. This time I had the desire to create not just a simple want so I think that is what made me successful. I love doing granny squares but the sewing together part really gets to me.
I've never heard of putting fabric in the blender! sounds so interesting and a bit adventurous also. Would love to see what you made with any of these pieces. I may just have to be adventurous too. My husband would think I am very very odd if he found me using the blender with fabric. LOL!
I filled the blender about three quarter full with water. I did several pieces of fabric total, but only two at a time. I put the blender on pulse and did about 5-6 pulses per try. You can do more depending on how much fray you want. I don't recommend doing strips of fabric as they end up wound around the blades and don't get frayed as well. Small squares appeared to work better. The pointsettia fabric pictures shows a before (4nd photo down) and the after (3rd photo down). The left over threads can also be used in your collages. So there you have it. Have fun blending fabric!!
I recently ran across a book I had in my library and had forgotten about -- "The Art of Handmade Paper & Collage" by Cheryl Stevenson. In it there's an article on a unique way to fray fabric in a blender. I though I'd give it a try as I love frayed fabric in my collages and was tired of trying to pull the threads with my fingers or washing it until it frayed, which can be time consuming. I here to tell you that it's a fabulous way to fray frabric. See included photos and judge for yourself.
Boy, do I feel like a fish out of water with this blog stuff. It's it so fascinating and yet overwhelming at times. You'll have to help me get the hang of this. Thanks for the invite.
