umm...i dunno really---it doesn't give it more of a smoother finish, sorta the opposite actually. I like to see the brush strokes and such in the white and in this type of piece. i think it was just a gut thing ya know?! I learned it when I was trying to paint that teal trunk/table that i have in my office. I was trying to use regular paint and I just couldn't get it the way i wanted it, so I said "Screw it! I'm just gonna act like its a big ole piece of paper or canvas. I know how to paint those! LOL" so i did and it ROCKED. anyhoo--i just like it. not sure how it would look in black, but i do know that my neighbor down the street did an entire NICE hutch with craft/acrylic paint and it is WAY smooth and gorgeous. I just wanted that shabby look.

erin had already picked up the desk and has it at her house. and lemme tell you it was a pain in my ARS!!!

Now, why did you do the acrylic craft paint on the top? Does it give a smoother finish than the spray paint? You didn't teach me that step. And, why craft paint instead of the painter's touch in a can that you can brush on? I'm picking your brain here :o)
Was this in your storage unit? I didn't see this piece at your house :o(

Love that I can watch the video tutorials over and over!!

okay smarty pants, how do you keep the spray paint off your driveway or garage floor? Tell us what you use, is it a big ol' honkin drop cloth or....???
Boy, I'm sassy tonight! LOL!

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
